About me

I’m Charlotte, a Level 2 ACA‑registered counsellor and the founder of Grounded Actions Counselling. I’ve worked in community‑based NGO roles around Gladstone since 2021, in both counselling and case management with people aged 12+. I’ve spent a lot of time alongside folks navigating substance use, mental health struggles and court or justice matters, often all of those things at once.

For nine years, I called remote communities and mining towns home, including time working on mining and construction sites in FIFO/DIDO roles. I’ve seen first‑hand how long swings, distance from loved ones, camp dynamics and small‑town pressures can slowly build into drinking or drug use, anger, employment issues, exhaustion and conflict at home. This personal experience of living and working in these environments helps me sit alongside rural, regional, remote and FIFO clients with a kind of “insider” understanding.

When it comes to how I run my sessions, think of them as a space where we work together to build a personalised toolkit you can actually use in real life. We might experiment with strategies for handling urges, managing anger, coping with stress after night shift, or having hard conversations at home. The goal is for you to leave feeling clearer and more confident about what you want to work towards, and more confident using the tools you’ve chosen, so life feels more workable and you feel more grounded and in charge of your next steps.
